Kaiser School Play

Kaiser PFO is excited to announce this year's musical Aladdin Jr. There are 50 available spots in the show. The first 50 students (4th-6th grade) who register and audition will be cast. 6th grade students will have a 1 day advance opportunity to register. Please note: spots fill up quickly. Please read the important information below.

This experience will provide 13 weeks (60+ hours) of theater instruction provided by Arts & Learning Conservatory as well as the opportunity to perform for family and friends in a state of the art theater. A tuition donation of $230 per participant is requested. The production of this play is not a fundraiser. Tuition and ticket sales are what mostly cover the cost of this wonderful experience. The $230 represents $3.85 per hour for over 60 hours of theater instruction.

Please carefully review the dates and discuss the commitment with your child. There are 24 rehearsal dates and 3 days of performances, including a busy tech week. It is VERY important that your child attend ALL rehearsals, tech week and performances. If your child cannot make this commitment, please do not register for the play. We do not cast understudies and all roles cast are important to the success of the play. Please also note that all students will be expected to abide by a behavior contract with a three strike rule. Mandatory Parent Meeting
Monday 10/17, 7pm - 8pm
Many parent volunteer positions are needed and will be explained at this meeting.

Mandatory Auditions - Kaiser MPR
Wednesday 10/19, 2pm - 4pm
Callbacks*: Friday 10/21, 3pm - 5pm (*only those called back)
All students registered will receive a role.

Rehearsals - Kaiser MPR
Weekly Rehearsals Wednesdays from 2pm - 4pm and Fridays from 3pm- 5pm
Students must be picked up from each rehearsal promptly. There is no after hour supervision.
No Rehearsals: 10/26, 11/11, Thanksgiving Recess, Winter Recess
**First Rehearsal Date will be Monday 10/24, 1:45pm - 3:45pm to make up for no school 10/26

Mandatory Tech Week & Performances -Newport Harbor High School Theater
Monday & Tuesday 1/30 - 1/31, 3pm - 6:30pm
Wednesday 2/1, 2pm - 6:30pm
Thursday 2/2 - KAISER SCHOOL PERFORMANCES (*students only - no families)
Friday 2/3 - 1 PUBLIC PERFORMANCE at 7pm
Saturday 2/4 - 2 PUBLIC PERFORMANCES at 2pm and 7pm

** On Thursday, 2/2, Aladdin, Jr. performers will perform for their peers. Performers will turn in a field trip permission slip in advance to participate in the Thursday performances. Attendance will be taken at the theater. Any students not present when attendance is taken will be marked absent from school that day. Additionally, students must be present for the performances on Thursday and at school all day on Friday to perform on Friday evening.
